Give the gift of dance
Providence Ballet Theatre invites you to help us bring the joy of live performance to 1,500 Providence schoolchildren, completely free of charge.
For many of these students, this will be their first experience seeing a live performance. Our school-day performances of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” introduce children to the art of dance in a way that sparks imagination, creativity, and curiosity.
Through dance, students experience storytelling with their whole bodies, expressing characters, emotions, and ideas through movement. Seeing a familiar story come to life in this way helps them look at the world differently, think creatively, and find meaning that goes beyond words.
Movement is a uniquely accessible art form. It allows children of all comprehension and communication abilities to engage meaningfully with content. For students who may struggle with verbal expression, dance provides an alternative pathway to process and convey ideas. For others, it offers a multisensory, embodied way to connect with literature, music, and storytelling.

As proud as we are of the artistic merits of our projects, Providence Ballet Theatre's greatest contribution is to the children of this state. When we fill the theater with under-served students, many of whom have never been to a live performance, we know we have achieved our most important goal. When we receive a letter of gratitude from a school principal whose students have watched one of their own classmates perform on stage, we know we have inspired and encouraged the dreams of those students.
Other denominations of donation are truly appreciated!
Thank you,
